Consistently Consistent
Have you ever wondered where everyone else is?
What I mean by that is if you’re anything like me, my feed(s) are largely populated by people, personalities and businesses that have “made it..” As in, they’ve achieved some degree of success or reach, that even a lower frequency user like me has found them, or more likely, the algorithms have pushed them to me.
For a smaller business starting out, this can feel like sysephus pushing his rock up the hill, only to find that the next day, the rock is back at the bottom. It can feel like you’re shouting into the void, and there are precious few out there who hear you. But the truth of the matter is, 99% of big accounts started as small accounts, shouting into the void like the rest of us. And that’s why most small online businesses fail, we have dreams of catching fire, building a crazy following like we have heard of people doing, and when it doesn’t happen in the short term, we think “well, I guess I’m not good at this,” or “they’re just not buying what I’m selling, time to try something else.”
I heard Alex Hormozi talking about just committing to being consistent, accepting that you’ll suck at first. I can tell you firsthand, this is really difficult, especially when you’re spending valuable time investing yourself into this. Our culture has trained us to think that success comes easy, because we see only the winners crossing the finish line. We don’t see the hard yards, the early mornings and late nights, the pain of pushing themself to their limit. But when the winners pop up in our feed, we say to ourself, “I want that.” I want the money, the lifestyle, the freedom, and that’s ok, because everybody wants that. But what are you willing to do to get it? I will tell you what I’m willing to do. I’m willing to be consistently consistent in both my input and my output, I’m willing to learn from my mistakes and other’s, and I won’t hang my self esteem on short term success.
So where is everyone else? I’m right here, and so are you. So what do you say, should we take this ride together? Follow, subscribe, or stay in touch at albatrossacademy.ca
